White Winter Woodland Christmas Tree

Today I reveal my Christmas tree and my theme for this year’s decorating! Right after Thanksgiving, I got to work decorating for the Christmas season and I was especially excited for the tree. This is because I got a taller and skinnier artificial tree secondhand after last season. It also came with fancy lights that sparkle and fade! The theme for this year’s Christmas decorations is White Winter Woodland. I teamed up with 50 other bloggers to share our Christmas trees altogether, so for more inspiration scroll to the bottom of this page.

Using primarily white and silver decorations, I adorned our tree with a variety of textures. The new tree has very realistic branches and I absolutely love it!

One thing you might notice right away is the large white hydrangea blooms. I had leftover hydrangeas from the wreath I made in the fall, so I spray painted them to add to the tree.

I clipped the stems long and poked holes in a large piece of cardboard. Then I stuck the stems through and hoisted the cardboard up on cement blocks.

After coating with Rust-Oleum 2X gloss white spray paint (you could do this using any color) I also sprinkled on some glitter. The big beautiful blooms take up a lot of visual space on the tree and provide an amazing effect!

For gifts this year, I chose a rustic look with brown paper wrapping, jute twine, and wooden gift tags. I wanted the presents to go with my White Winter Woodland theme and I think it looks so pretty when the gift wrap goes well with the tree.

Decorating for Christmas with turquoise being my main living room color was difficult. I chose natural elements and neutral colors to play it safe, but I am contemplating adding hints of red throughout my house for when I reveal the whole home tour next week. One thing I added to pull in the turquoise a little bit is this pillow cover made from an old sweater.

Cute seasonal pillow cover made from old sweater hand lettering these fabric paints are washable!

It says “Merry and Bright” with the “and” being turquoise. I hand lettered this pillow using these Jacquard paints which are actually washable when used on fabric. I highly recommend them!
