Christmas Tree Decor: Pretty Poinsettias

It’s Christmas time again! Of course, the kids and I had our big day of decorating the tree complete with Christmas music, burning candles, and a few broken ornaments (hey, the 3 year old is learning). My Christmas tree decor is whimsical this year, but for me, the highlight of the tree are the giant poinsettias. I kind of ran with that as my theme; you’ll have to wait until next Monday for the whole home holiday tour!

It turned out just beautiful, didn’t it!? So, you’ll be pleased to hear I made a time-lapse video of the process with my kids. My stair railing makeover video was such a hit, I figured I would make another production for your viewing pleasure. There may or may not also be a dance party in the middle of the video as well!

This video gives me flashbacks to this picture from our decorating day two years ago:

Man, those kids grow up fast! But anyway, back to the tree. With my new furniture arrangement, the tree is no longer relegated to the corner! It resides in the middle of our large living room window, flanked by the two club chairs. Our new furniture made a big impact on Christmas!

It’s such a cozy place to relax with a cup of cocoa, or nurse the baby, ya know.

I already have a good start on my presents, but I wasn’t coordinated enough to do all matching wrapping paper this year.

Presents under the tree, it's Christmas time again! See this beautiful poinsettia themed Christmas Tree Decor!
The variety of depth and size of ornaments is what makes the tree truly beautiful. I love all the different textures and shapes to look at!

Christmas Tree At Night

Of course, the tree is most admirable in the evening all lit up.

I think the light’s reflection is a great benefit of placing the tree in front of a window. Do you put yours in front of a window?

There's nothing more magical that a Christmas Tree lit up at night! These blue and white lights sparkle amidst red, green, silver, and blue ornaments on this beautiful tree!
At night, it’s just magical. I would LOVE to see a picture of your tree! Feel free to share this Christmas tree decor!
Come back next week when I share all my home’s holiday decor. You won’t want to miss it!

  1. Wonderful!!! I just love your video! Brought back so many memories of when my son was little, music playing, stuff everywhere to choose from and of course all the ornaments he made over the years (which you will have and cherish as well) that he had a story about how and when they were made…same thing every year and never got old!!! He is now all grown up and serving our country in the USAF, so we don’t have that so much now…did I mention he is also a Christmas baby?! And sitting in the rocker nursing…lol (tickled me that you mentioned that).

You have done a beautiful job with the tree and of course your home and projects !!! I wish you all health and happiness in the new year and all the wonderful memories that you and your family will make along the way!!!
